Teacher convicted of sex with teenager leaves The Villages after two years on the run

The former teacher daughter of a couple from Villages, who was convicted of having sex with a teenage student in 2014, has left her parents’ home and returned to Georgia.

Stephanie Lorraine Seabury, 30, registered an address in Clermont, Georgia last month, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. As a convicted sex offender, she must register her address with the authorities.

The former Delaware college professor, in 2019 moved in with his parents in their Designer House in the Village of La Belle Nord. Seabury was classified as ‘on the run’ in November 2019.

She was arrested on September 1 for violating her sex offender registration. She was registered at the Sumter County Detention Center, and her mother posted $ 10,000 bail. This case is still pending in Sumter County Court.

It appears she lived in Georgia for almost two years where she was a wanted woman in Florida.

Seabury was an English teacher at Fred Fifer III Middle School in Camden, Delaware when she was arrested in 2014. Seabury lived in an apartment complex in Dover, Delaware, where she had had sex with a 13-year-old student. The relationship included sex.

Seabury and the student met on a number of occasions at a predetermined location, then proceeded to her apartment. They exchanged several explicit phone messages and photographs during the inappropriate relationship, according to reports at the time.

Seabury has been charged with one count of child sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust or authority, a felony in Delaware. She was eventually sentenced to 18 months probation, sparking some outrage in the community. Many complained that if she had been a male teacher she would have received a harsher sentence.
