Holiday Markets for Local Gifts in DC, Maryland & Virginia – NBC4 Washington


Holiday Markets are popping up all over the DC area, giving you the chance to pick up unique gifts and support local vendors.

Here are the vacation markets to check out in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Washington, DC Holiday Markets

Downtown Holiday Market
Centered on 8th and F streets, NW
Open until December 23

The Downtown Holiday Market is back, a sure sign of the holiday season. Buyers now have a lot more room to roam: the city is closing two blocks on F Street near the Capital One Arena.

The market is open daily from noon to 8 p.m., except Thanksgiving Day and December 6.

Anacostia Arts Open House
November 28, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Anacostia Arts Center, 1231 Good Hope Road Southeast, DC

The Anacostia Arts Center is hosting a holiday shopping event during its monthly open mic. Vendors include Nubian Hueman, Mahogany Books, Vintaged and Charmed, and The Fresh Food Factory.

Pick out a Christmas tree, festive garland, or other holiday decor before heading to the Union Market to sample tasty food and local gifts.

Outdoor Hanukkah Bazaar
December 2 and 5 at 7 p.m.

Lights, music, food carts and local vendors will light up the holiday spirit at this Hanukkah market.

Tenleytown Winter Pop-Up Market

Dec. 3, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cercle Dupont Holiday Pop-up
Maps available at the Dupont Circle metro north exit on Q Street
December 4, noon to 5 p.m.

Connecticut Avenue, P Street, 17th Street, and 18th Street stores will have special pop-ups outside. Take a map at the Dupont Circle subway north exit on Q Street.

Heurich Chriskindlmarkt House

This German market in the garden of a castle will also offer the rebirth of a historic beer. Tickets start at $ 10 for adults and $ 2 for children 15 and under when presale online.

Procrastinator Holiday Market

Not only can you browse over 20 arts and crafts vendors, but you can also stop at the card making station or take a free train ride for the holidays. For the first time this year, the Procrastinator’s Market plans to sell Christmas trees. It’s free to attend.

Van Ness Main Street Annual Holiday Pop-UP
Two locations: 4340 Connecticut Avenue NW and 5010 Connecticut Avenue NW

The annual Van Ness Christmas Market has spread to two locations, one near the District of Columbia University Law School and the other at Politics and Prose.

The Carolers will spread a little more joy from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the UDC site. The markets are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

National Park
Until January 2

Nationals Park’s Enchant has a maze of lights, Santa’s Landing, ice skating and of course a holiday market in the village. Tickets start at $ 29 for adults and children ages 3 and up.

Maryland Holiday Markets

Maryland Christmas Show
Frederick County Fairgrounds (797 East Patrick St. Frederick)

The Maryland Christmas Show is back for its 37th year, bringing together artisans selling jewelry, art, clothing, toys and more. Admission is $ 8 for adults, $ 4 for children under 10; Parking costs $ 2.

The hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

International Festival of Empowered Women
December 4, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Silver Spring Civic Building, 1 Veterans Plaza, Silver Spring, Maryland

Support local women entrepreneurs at the Empowered Women International Holiday Market. Many businesses are owned by black people, Latinos or immigrants.

Silver Spring Christmas Market and Holiday Craft Fair

The Silver Spring Holiday Market features arts and crafts, baked goods, jewelry, and more for everyone on your gift list.

Takoma Park Gift Market

Outside near 201 Ethan Allen Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland

Peruse local vendors, then dine at local food trucks. Soul & Ink will deploy its mobile screen printing unit to personalized designs. There is also a photo booth and collection to benefit TWYNbox, an organization dedicated to ending menstrual poverty.

Virginia Holiday Markets

Holiday market

Buy local on Black Friday weekend, as well as two weekends in December, at Springfield Town Center. Here is a list of suppliers.

McLean Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival
3-5 Dec
McLean Community Center (1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean, Virginia)

Eighty artisans from the Capital Region will be inside the McLean Community Center during the first weekend in November. Admission is $ 5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. One ticket is good for the whole weekend.

Old Town Christmas Market and Holiday Craft Fair
