HAVESTRAW, NY, July 20, 2021– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – The Village of Haverstraw is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development in Haverstraw, New York of two waterfront plots currently known as Chair Factory and Damiani Properties. The Village has owned these plots for several years. This 9+ acre combined plot sits on a peninsula at the foot of Main Street at the widest point of the Hudson River and offers views of High Tor Mountain, Westchester and Bowline Point Park.
The objective of the RFP is to obtain proposals from a group of experienced developers and select one of the respondents, led by a lead development company and supported by a design project team and other professional consultants. , as the preferred developer for the site. Although the RFP provides full details of the village’s vision for the development of the site, the village focuses on: (i) providing an anchor use in the town center that attracts economic activity year round; (ii) connect the site to the town center of the village and integrate therein a mixed-use development that includes residences, hotels, entertainment and retail businesses that complement the existing businesses in the village and serve as a waterfront attraction. the water ; and (iii) a development that reflects the scale and model of the town center of the village.

Responses to the call for tenders will be due on October 1, 2021. Written questions will be due on August 26, 2021.
