JCC to require

Covid-19 vaccine

SUNY Jamestown Community College, under a mandate from the State University of New York, will require incoming and outgoing students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine pending full approval of the vaccine by the federal government.

Students who are fully vaccinated with an FDA-cleared COVID vaccine and provide proof of vaccination will not have any restrictions related to COVID-19. Vaccination records must be provided two weeks prior to arrival on campus for any reason.

Students who are not vaccinated, partially vaccinated, vaccinated with a COVID vaccine not cleared by the FDA and / or who have approved medical or religious exemptions, should continue to wear a mask in indoor areas, outdoor areas if can not maintain a distance of six feet, and public transportation. They must also participate in pool tests and perform a daily COVID screening.

The college announced in April that it would revert to in-person operations subject to health and safety protocols established by the State University of New York, the Chautauqua and Cattaraugus County Health Departments, the Department of New York State Health and the Centers for Disease Control. JCC switched to remote operations on March 17, 2020 and began the 2020-21 academic year in August using a flexible teaching format that included online, hybrid, and in-person courses.
