The La Jolla Light offers this current guide to the many local organizations that help guide community life, along with their abbreviations “alphabet soup”.

Unless otherwise specified, organizations are currently meeting online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Goal: Engage in activities that enhance the growth and improvement of the Bird Rock neighborhood, including the administration of the Bird Rock Maintenance Assessment District, upkeep of roundabouts, improvement of cultural, charitable and community activities, promoting business improvement and more.

La Jolla Shores Planned District Advisory Council (PDAB)

Goal: The council reviews all permit applications submitted to it and submits its recommendations or comments to the San Diego Director of Planning. La Jolla Traffic and Transport Office (T&T)

Goal: The joint committee composed of members of LJCPA, LJTC, LJSA, LJVMA and BRCC studies all the proposals affecting the streets of La Jolla, in particular the layout, the stop signs, the calming of the traffic, the colors of the borders, valet parking and parking time limits. T&T also hears proposals for special events requiring traffic control or affecting on-street parking.
