The Team

The shop is staffed almost entirely by residents of the village. The age range of the team is 21 to 83. The team led by Carol and supported by Pauline, Emma, Helen, Rebecka, Liz and Andrew, is an integral part of the business and over 4 years into this venture Carol and Lovat could not have brought about the positive changes without their enthusiasm, commitment, ideas and continued support.

A number of product lines are sourced from village residents and neighbouring village suppliers, for example;
logs, kindling, birthday/occasional cards, bakery products, toys, fruit and vegetables "sexy food" and all our butcher meat/pies are from Award Winning local butchers.

From the outset the objective was to find as many local suppliers and to use the skills of the village residents for trades like electrical, joinery, roofing, heating etc.

The shop acts as a focal point in the village community and has as such been a venue for musicians during the Gargunnock Village Music Festival, serves to advertise local events, has had a mysterious visitor from Transylvania at Halloween (alias local, Ivana originally from the Czech Republic) and receives a visit from Santa Claus and accompanying Elf during December.
